RCFC Ceases Operations
River Cities FC of the St. Louis area spent just two seasons in the Womens Premier Soccer League. The ladies of RCFC made a huge and immediate impact on the world, national and local womens soccer scene.
However, as of January 1, 2008 RCFC has decided to cease operations.
The club, owned by Jeff Cooper, has decided to 'take the summer off' in preparation for the full Women's Professional Soccer (WPS), which will come to St. Louis in 2009. In just 2 short seasons, RCFC accomplished a
2 year undefeated home record,
2006 National Finalist and 2007 Co-Regular Season Midwest Division Championship and much more. RCFC would like to thank all of their fans, supporters, business partners, players, parents and staff for making the past 2 seasons memorable.
